The very first time truly does stick with you forever. Such is the case with bunjee - jumping off the Soweto Cooling Towers. None of us had taken the bunjee leap before, yet we all acted like it was no big deal. Telling silly jokes to calm the nerves.

As the bunjee operators strapped my ankles in and secured the thick, multi - stranded bunjee cord, my nerves shot through the roof. It felt as if a thousand butterflies had been let loose in my stomach. Probably due to the bacon and egg breakfast I had eaten earlier on.

Countdown began and before I could fathom what was happening, my body had began hurtling a 100 metres towards the ground below. Just as I was getting to grips with what had happened, I heard a loud cheer from the crowd above. Realization hit me, I had just experienced my first bunjee- jump!
